Alexander Ave, the road between the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito, is notoriously dangerous. See 2024 Marin County published a Local Road Safety Plan (pages 204, )

Vista Point Trail Project is On the Way

Although not part of the Alexander Ave. road, this trail from the northeast bridge parking lot will divert many tourist bicycles to Fort Baker providing traffic relief and a more enjoyable ride for less seasoned cyclists. See the project page for more information.
